Treasurer Position Now OPEN

GTSC Board of Directors Position

The Grand Traverse Ski Club has an opening on its Board of Directors and is seeking enthusiastic, passionate candidates.  The position of Treasurer is an officer position.  In addition to some of the specific Treasurer responsibilities listed below, GTSC Board members define the vision of the Ski Club and put the Club in a position to carry out the all important mission of offering quality instructional ski and ski racing programs for kids aged 4-14 at an economical price and developing good skiers and ski racers with a focus on fun and sportsmanship.

The role of Treasurer is critical to the financial oversight of the Club.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing payables and receivables.
  • Managing coach payroll.
  • Monthly cooperation with Club accountant in order for monthly financial statements to be produced.
  • Financial oversight and reconciliation of Club fund raisers. 
  • Monthly Board Meeting attendance. 
  • While organizational skills are important, a finance and/or accounting background is NOT necessary. 

The GTSC is one of the longest standing clubs in Traverse City in large part due to the phenomenal people that have helped shape the vision of this organization over the course of the last 50 years.  We’re looking forward to welcoming our next board team member during this exciting time period for the Club.  If you are interested in the Treasurer position or would like more information, please contact Tim Dutmers at or(231) 631-1794All candidate submissions must be made no later than Fri., July 18th.
