- We will not race this week, but work to prepare!
**SUNDAY RACES:
Great first Sunday Race in the books, GTSC! We had snow, smiles and skiers galore!!! Thank you for being troopers through some timing issues – we are so proud of all our GTSC skiers, volunteers and fans in the cheering section!
- Please be sure your skier is registered for Sunday Races – registration is under our website, under Programs – Registration.
- Once you are registered, you have access to our TeamSnap Schedule, chat, etc. – so please be sure to get this done and stay informed!
- Next week will be SL, same time, same place!
- Please check Assignments under next weeks race in the Sunday Race Schedule to help with our volunteer spots we need to fill – THANK YOU!!
**USSS & FIS Teams – MS USSS, HS USSS, Intro to USSS & FIS
What a great weekend of racing for all our GTSC USSS & FIS athletes! Thank you all for continuing to challenge yourselves – we are so proud of all of you for stepping in the start gate.
USSS Teams:
This is the weekend of the Shelley Glover Memorial Races at Big Snow Resort (formerly known as Indianhead).
- The Glover Fact Sheet is available on the CR3 website, shared here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PbbIiZggs4tuR3HstaL_gKsd1JgVStTKwhOF9c5av8k/edit?tab=t.0
- Please carefully review the Schedule in the Fact Sheet – it’s tricky as the U14 & U16 skiers are staggered start and end days.
- Training for each age group will be prior to their first day of racing. Please watch for more information.
- Disciplines are listed for each day – but always subject to change depending on weather, etc.
- DIBS are OPEN!! Please help make this race, happen, GTSC!!
- Reminder to get on the What’s App – since this is a different Region race, it’s a new What’s App (ie – not CR3).
- Coaches strongly encourage all U14 & U16 GTSC skiers to attend this race, particularly if your skier has the goal of working to qualify for the Junior Championship Races in Colorado in March – as the qualifying races take place at this same venue for U14 & U16 athletes.
- Please reach out to ski pals and carpool/share housing/work together to try and help as many of our athletes attend as possible! Our goal is to help set our athletes up for success as possible by getting them comfortable on the race hills they want to crush at Hosking! Bringing friends is more fun!!
- Reminder this is an out-of-region race, as is the Hosking Races (the Junior Champ qualifier races in February) – so coaching fees are assessed separately and are not included.
- Please register, and mark your Availability in TeamSnap no later than Tuesday at noon so we can plan our coaching accordingly.
For those USSS racers not attending Glover, we are working on training location – due to the holiday weekend it’s difficult to secure lane space but we will get it!!
FIS Race Team:
- Schedule – the Atmore was our final FIS race included in our team fee for the season. CONGRATS to all on an amazing experience!
- Additional FIS races are certainly available, including the upcoming U18 qualifiers. Please discuss with Coach Craig if you are interested in attending any and we are happy to help coordinate.
- We look forward to seeing you all at our Friday USSS/FIS practices at Hickory and upcoming CR3 USSS races!
