Week of January 26, 2026
Next week, we’ll continue developing rope tow skills while exploring more of Hickory’s terrain.
Our technical focus will be on outside ski awareness, along with reinforcing and reviewing the remaining Skier Code points.
Parents – thank you for being helpful with our Assignment signups! You are crushing it!! Let’s keep it up and coaches say THANK YOU!!!
Parking lot attendant – reminder to grab a yellow vest and stand right out at the front of the lodge at the drive pull up. The idea is to let the parking lot parent help your kiddo in the lodge to start getting ready while you go park. We know the lot is crazy and hope this helps keep kiddos on time =)
Lodge parents – look for the yellow vest and radio, and thanks for helping during class!
Thanks all!!
We made the most of the extremely cold temperatures this week and were able to get productive training sessions in. During Tuesday’s slalom, several different courses were set with hairpins and flushes to help prepare athletes for today’s race.
In GS, some of the athletes had the opportunity to watch the middle school racers finish their race and then ski the exact same course once it was cleared. We also spent time practicing starts on the Swede start mound.
Looking ahead to this week, we’ll be focusing on race rules and tactics, including when and where to turn in a course and how to respond if a gate is missed or a ski is lost.
