**USSS (MS & Intro teams)
Thank you all for a great week as we leaned into full training schedule for MS, and racing/training for all levels of USSS!
Racing:
We were thrilled to participate in our first USSS race back at Marquette Mountain since they last hosted a USSS race (was that 5 years ago?).
Congrats to all our racers for their amazing energy, positive attitudes, and taking on some of the best terrain in Michigan!
Looking ahead to this week – we will not participate in any races, but dedicate this week to training (see below).
Training:
All USSS/FIS:
Thank you to those who participated at Nubs training – sounds like it was a great turnout with lots of great runs.
For the week ahead, we will also train at Nubs again this coming weekend. Please watch for Schedule updates as our times/lanes are solidified and mark your Availability accordingly.
It is very important for planning purposes that coaches know who’s coming, thanks for your help!
MS USSS:
Training: Please continue to watch the TeamSnap Schedule for discipline and training updates each week.
We will head to Crystal tonight (Monday) and Tuesday again, both parent transport – please continue to cross your fingers on Hickory conditions and stay tuned for updates.
Bussing: We survived our first week of bussing!!! Thank you to our fearless first chaperones – and now a few important reminders for our skiers riding the bus.
Parents please talk to your skiers and remind them of the rules of engagement on the bus:
-
- No throwing things on the bus – ever. This includes wrappers, water, etc.
- Garbage needs to be cleaned out of your space prior to exiting the bus – always. This is not anyone else’s responsibility.
- Waffle House is NOT an approved activity. This holds up the entire bus.
Skiers who engage in above behavior will be talked to and may be asked not to ride the bus going forward. Thank you for making sure the rules are clear to keep our bus drivers safe!
Also, a friendly reminder for the parents re: Crystal bus:
- Please arrive at West Middle School 5 minutes PRIOR to the bus getting back to ensure chaperones can depart =)
- Reminder that all parents are needed to help chaperone each season on Wednesday busses to/from Crystal and also races. The bus can not go without you!
- See Assignments and pick the date that works for you!
Thanks all, let’s have a great week!!
**FIS
For skiers intended for the Atmore Race, please connect with Coach Craig this week to ensure you are registered and/or pull on time.
Otherwise, please see above USSS/FIS update for training and races going forward!
Thank you and reach out anytime with questions!
