Cancelled Jan 5 due to lack of available hill space open at Hickory.
Set to start on Monday Jan 12th.
Wednesday Night Race Clinics (WNRC):
We are hopeful to start up as planned on Wednesday Jan 7th – however this may change if there is not adequate hill space available at Hickory.
Please watch for updates.
Race Clinics (Tues/Thurs):
We will start as scheduled on Tuesday Jan 6th with drills and flats work at Hickory. Skiers should bring their SL skis if they have 2 pair.
Please see TeamSnap schedule and plan to utilize throughout the season to better understand which discipline we will be training.
Thank you for your patience as we work with the terrain we have available at Hickory, and do your snow dance!

**USSS (MS & Intro teams)
Our schedule is slightly modified due to the lack of available terrain at Hickory this week, thank you for your patience as we do our best to get the best training possible in for our USSS racers!
See TeamSnap Schedule and plan to find friends to carpool to Crystal Mtn Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  Wednesday will have bussing per usual from EMS, SEAS and WMS to/from Crystal Mtn.
See attached important transportation and chaperone/volunteering documents for your review.
Reminder that our Wednesday Blue Lakes busses to/from Crystal Mtn require us to have at least 2 chaperones. We appreciate all parents signing up under Assignments for at least a few shifts this season for practices (or races). Thank you for helping out!
Please be sure to get in the habit of marking your skiers Availability in TeamSnap for all events each week. THIS IS IMPORTANT AS WE SCHEDULE COACHING NEEDS. Particularly for Crystal practices and all races – Middle School and/or USSS.
Jan 10 & 11 we are thrilled to go back to our beloved Marquette Mountain for a CR2 USSS race!!  As a reminder, we will attend this race in lieu of the Shelley Glover Memorial Race at Indianhead the weekend following.  As a CR2 USSS race, the Marquette race is an additional coaching fee, and not included in the USSS fees. This is to help cover the travel for coaches outside of our CR3 area. Please mark your Availability in your TeamSnap so we can plan our coaching numbers accordingly for Marquette – if you haven’t raced here before – prepare to see some great terrain and great layout for viewing!! It’s our favorite for sure =)

High School USSS
We are hopeful to host practice start up on Fridays as scheduled. This Friday, Jan 9 at Hickory, practice will be TBD based on athletes that mark availability to participate given the Marquette USSS race the same weekend.
Please be sure to get in the habit of marking your skiers Availability in TeamSnap for all events each week. THIS IS IMPORTANT AS WE SCHEDULE COACHING NEEDS. Particularly for Crystal practices and all races – Middle School and/or USSS.

**MSRT
We will not practice Monday Jan 5 due to lack of available terrain at Hickory, and we are bumping our program start up to Tuesday Jan 6 this week to allow Hickory additional time to open more terrain. Please plan for drill work and bring your SL skis (if you have 2 pair).
Reminder that our MSRT skiers can take busses each day to practice, see attached information to this email, also uploaded into your TeamSnap media files. These documents show where the busses come at each school, which bus type and time. The attachments also detail chaperone roles and assistance needed – please take time to read these with your skier!

**FIS
Congratulations to all 13 of our FIS athletes this season on an amazing 3-race performance!!! We had a blast with all of you and look forward to finishing up the USSS race season and HS race season strong with the experience under your belt.

From the depths of wooded Minnesota at Giants Ridge, to Canada and back to the infamous Buck Hill, Minnesota – you have all proven yourselves to be resilient, steadfast, and one heckuva a fun team. We appreciate your continued leadership with our younger USSS skiers and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds!

If you are interested in pursuing any of the U18 qualifying races, please reach out directly to Coach Craig to discuss and begin planning.

We will start up Friday trainings at Hickory as scheduled, Jan 9 if athlete numbers are adequate. Please be sure to mark your Availability for these trainings and USSS races going forward.

**Sunday Races
We are hopeful to kick off our first Sunday Race as planned on Sunday Jan 11th at Hickory Hills. Please register if you have not already so we can get you in the lineup and assign your GTSC bib for the season!  Also a reminder this 1st race we allow any GTSC program skier to try Sunday Races for FREE! So tell your pals and have them come on down to join us!
As discussed at our virtual Sunday Race Meet & Greet, this years format will be slightly different with the goal of speeding up the races (less waiting for cold kiddos!). Please review the Meet & Greet information in the Media Files in your TeamSnap.
Our Sunday Races can NOT be held without your help!  Please register for our Sunday Races and help out with the Assignments. We truly all must work together to make these fun events happen for the kiddos!  Thank you for signing up!
Reminder that you must be registered to receive Sunday Race updates and see the Schedule! Should anything change with our first race date, we will communicate this as soon as possible to all families.
