**2024/25 Programming Waitlisters – UPDATE!
Thank you for your patience as we work through our 2024/25 GTSC programming waitlist!
We are thrilled to announce we will be starting to contact waitlist families to join our programming this season! And so excited to grow the love our this most amazing sport as possible =)
Reminders:
- Waitlist families will be accepted in order of which they signed up on the waitlist.
- We will begin reachouts in the coming week and look forward to welcoming many as many smiling ski friends into our GTSC family as we have coaches to support.
- As always, let us know any ski coaches that may be interested in coming to coach for the GTSC – WE ARE HIRING – and this helps us accept more new skiers =) Contact: skigtsc@gmail.com
**Thank you Iceman Cometh GTSC Volunteer Crushers!
A huge THANK YOU today to our amazing GTSC volunteers for helping to setup the Iceman Cometh bike race corral fencing and banners! What a beautiful fall day to help out this awesome community event as we prepare to cheer on all our mountain bike racing friends at the Iceman Cometh race (including our very own GTSC President, Jake Burden, over a dozen GTSC skiers and parents!). Head on out to Timber Ridge to cheer them on next weekend!
**USSS Gear Requirement Reminders – U14 Fams
For those that were unable to attend the GTSC USSS/FIS meeting last month, and/or just need a little reminder of the equipment requirements for all U14 USSS skiers. Please reach out to Coach Craig or our pal Eric Shutler at Don Orr with any questions specific to your athlete!! Our ski community is always here and happy to help!
ALL U14 USSS athletes:
– Slalom skis MUST be 130cm or longer
– Giant Slalom skis MUST be 17 meter radius or greater, the ski will have a number somewhere on the ski
– Helmets MUST be a solid hard ear shell and the FIS approved certification sticker on the back…..pasted below.
– Failure to follow equipment guidelines will result in your athlete being pulled from the race.
**USSS Alpine Officials UPDATE Meeting – Oct 29 @ 7pm via Zoom – For any existing, or upcoming (new, looking to get licensed this year) Alpine Official – newbies welcome!
The USSS Alpine Officials 2024 Update will be held on a Zoom call On October 29th @ 7pmEST. Meeting should last approximately 2hours) and it will be a Zoom Call. There will be a Link on the CR3 Webpage as well as this email.
The AO Update is a meeting to inform all of the new rule changes and remind participants of the most important items they need to remember for the upcoming season.
If you are new to AO this is very important for you to be part of the AO Update before you attend the AO Clinics.

**AO (Alpine Officials) CLINICS: When, Were, What?
The AO Clinics are only held once a season and conducted in-person.
Up North will be at Nubs Nob on November 2 and 3 – the time and what classes we will be holding will be posted on the CR3 website soon.
The AO Clinics are classes and test for you to become a official such as:
- Jury Advisor (JA) Start/Finish Referee
- Referee (RF) this is mostly for Coaches because they need it to be able to set a race course in a competition
- Chief of Race (CR) is one of the Jury members and you run the race
- Chief of Course (CC)
- Timing and Calculation (TC)
- Rac Administrator (RA)
There are study guides in the link provided for the update. It is very important that you read through this study guide and download an competition guide for this class and test. The class is a review of the materials and the test is and
open book test. I can tell you if you don’t study for these classes and tests are harder than what you think. Please study and watch for information to signup for the Clinics!
**GTSC Fall Camp – Final Athlete/Parent Meeting – November 12 @ 7pm
Winter Park, Colorado is looking snowy and we are crossing fingers that the cold continues for our campers!
We will host our final Fall Camp Meeting for all camp PARTICIPANTS and PARENTS with coaches on Tuesday, November 12th @ 7pm via Teams.
It’s important that all please join if you are able as we will discuss the details around what we know at that time for snow conditions, outlook, lane space, housing and travel details.
